Cyclops
Inspired by the song “Survive” from EPIC: The Cyclops Saga (Original Concept Album) by Jorge Rivera-Herrans and ‘The Odyssey’ by Homer
The first time I ever used Adobe Illustrator was in college. Although we were learning about design in class, I took it upon myself to make a daily challenge over the Christmas break to try a new technique every day.
The following are some of my favourites from this challenge.
Album Artwork
Green Eyed Lady - Single
When Mitchell approached me to make this single's artwork, I wanted to showcase a more grassroots-style look. I looked at other grassroots albums and some examples he sent me, and I decided to work with this idea of a paper cut-out visual. I’ve used this style of design before in some poster designs, and it worked out to be a striking visual for his single.
Mitchell Mozdzen is a Blues/Rock musician from Brandon, Manitoba. After picking up the guitar at the age of 7, he’s had a hard time putting it down. Recently Mitchell has started writing about indigenous affairs.
Mitchell’s Single is available on Spotify and Apple Music.
Maple Sugar - Single
Mitchell asked me to create this design at the same time as Green Eyed Lady, but I chose a different approach to the artwork. While I wanted to showcase the bluegrass sound of his music in the Green Eyed Lady cover, I thought that a visual of a maple syrup bottle would be more recognizable. By using a recognizable symbol and incorporating the title of his single, I thought it would look striking on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
Green Blue - EP
Mitchell Mozdzen's fifth EP consists of one side being songs about indigenous culture and the other being Blues covers recorded straight off the floor. Drawings are originally created by Mozdzen's brother.

The 204
The 204’s self-titled EP released in 2017.
Recognized for their refined three-part harmonies and a knack for earworm melodies, The 204 occupies a musical space that is all their own. Raised in Manitoba, members Bryn Herperger, Ben Lamont, Keiran Placatka, and Nick Moffat craft a sound that lies somewhere on the line between widely appealing rock tunes and more innovative sonic ventures - resulting in accessible, and unique, songwriting.
On their 2017 self-titled EP, the band worked at Stereobus Recording with Paul Yee and Liam Duncan.
The 204’s EP is available on Spotify and Apple Music.
